A very simple tool to generate the SHA-1 hash of a string in security
This free SHA1 hash generator is useful for encoding passwords, credit cards numbers and other sensitive date into databases(MySQL, MSSQL, Postgress or others).
In cryptography, SHA-1 is a cryptographic hash function designed by the United States National Security Agency and published by the United States NIST as a U.S. Federal Information Processing Standard. SHA stands for "secure hash algorithm". The three SHA algorithms are structured differently and are distinguished as SHA-0, SHA-1, and SHA-2. SHA-1 is very similar to SHA-0, but corrects an error in the original SHA hash specification that led to significant weaknesses.
SHA-1 is the most widely used of the existing SHA hash functions, and is employed in several widely used security applications and protocols.
Example SHA-1 hashes:
These is a sample of SHA-1 digests. ASCII encoding is used for all messages.
SHA1("The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog") = 2fd4e1c6 7a2d28fc ed849ee1 bb76e739 1b93eb12
